Surrounded by pine forest and with an abundance of wildlife, “Willow Springs Lake” is located 40 miles East of Payson off Hwy 260, and is the 2nd most popular lake on Rim Country’s Mogollon Rim (next to Woods Canyon Lake), open to kayaks, canoes and gas motor-boats up to 10 hp or less. April through September the lake is regularly stocked with rainbow and tiger trout, but bass and sunfish can also be found there.

In this weeks Adventure Where We Live, we go boating on Lake Roosevelt. This Lake is a beautiful body of water set in the desert. Both non-motorized and motorized boats are allowed on Roosevelt, and the lake is opened year-round. For Boating, a Tonto Daily Pass and a Watercraft sticker or Tonto Discovery Pass are required. Campground fees at various sites around the Roosevelt might be separate from these. Call the Tonto Basin Ranger district for specific details or visit individual websites.
